The point of the matter is that it is not easy to choose from the private or the public sector. In one the income is to specific people and the public sector it is undefined and unspecific. The money going to RTE would largely go to the salaries of the new teachers and to the 6th pay commission salaries of teachers. Not clear why you worry about the private sector here. The wastage, the cost and cynicism is much more in the public sector.
C`mon Hardi , this kind of money , released after years of stonewalling, is not for teacher`s 6th pay commission ! Remember Hindu rate of reform ? Structural changes will soon unfold . Of course , the old public vs private polarity is that of devil/deep sea . This is time for New Tricks Inc. Watch this space .
There are mountains in the distance and there are definitely streams in this forest. The streams are thin and narrow. Have they been dammed before entering the forest. I wonder as usual.
When is Aamir Khan emerging again with the education minister? That would be the new delhi bollywood partnership taking us head long into free for all fall.
I think there is no choice between the two. There has been the demonstrated incompetence of the govenment in India and unregulated private sector will only have education for the 15% or may be only 1.5%. It is criminal to tax,or print money and then waste it in such collossal numbers. The only ingenuity is the new fangled names for the old kleptomaniacs. Steal, steal, steal in the name of the poor! I agree with Hardy that there is nothing to choose but what horrifies me is that the govt can get away with murder of resources without any debate. What democracy is this?
