Yes the realisation that everbody here is alone, liberates you in a way. And then one is resigned to one's fate /situation.
Or is that the old age not knowing its value hikes up the value of its nostalgia and considers the youth with all its unhappiness and uncertainty as valuable. Difficult to say.
