There was some analysis, probably in IEEE. There are accidents in several human endeavour- in India we had casualities during Metro construction, overturned cranes. In USA there will be several others, but voyages to the space station have also met with accidents and there have been casualities. Still with all the deaths, long term disabilities etc due radiation exposure considered it was calculated and concluded Nuclear power is one of the safest bets. And this analysis was NOT by the cartel engaged in marketing Nuclear power and or related equipment/ accessories. The point whether India can be more safe in its efforts/ projects, I think IT CERTAINLY CAN BE MORE DEMANDING as far as technology is concerned. Yes, at many times, it is other considerations which dictate what technology is bought- hopefully India will be more careful!
