Me-thinks its appropriate to now call the fest ..."LIT-tering Fest".... where writing becomes righting n wronging matches, festering more wounds and fiction vs friction is more byte-ing than the bite itself.... perhaps the stars have lost their gravity and need controversies to survive rather than in the merit of their conviction.....here words seem louder than the books in perspective where the author claims "hear me" rather than the audiences applaud of "here-here"....!!!EGO HAS NO MERIT !!!!
For a clear comment on what Ashis Nandy was trying to say see http://www.firstpost.com/living/the-pillorying-of-ashis-nandy-his-critics-need-hearing-aids-603932.html
Nandy is deeply right about what is wrong with India, but he is quite wooly -- even mystical -- about how to set it right. I think he takes the nativity bug too far.

You are right I think. The littering is part of the design. Take a look at the festival`s sponsors!
